This procedure is named after ancient Egypt’s Queen Nefertiti, who was renowned for her sleek neck and contoured jawline, as it creates a well-toned, lifted jawline and smoothed neck. The Nefertiti Neck lift is also sometimes referred to as simply the ‘Nefertiti lift’ and is an anti-wrinkle treatment which can reverse the signs of ageing in your lower face, jaw, and neck.
The Nefertiti neck lift is a fast and economical way to restore a youthful neck and jawline. It does so via a muscle known as the platysma, which is responsible for the tight vertical cords that appear in the neck as we age, and is one of the reasons that downward grooves (marionette lines) appear at the corners of the mouth. It contributes to pulling our lower face down and the appearance of jowls, and is a major cause of horizontal lines and loss of elasticity in the neck.
As with any other procedure, before you go ahead with treatment your Sur practitioner will discuss your medical history and expectations. They’ll be able to answer any questions you may have, and let you know if the results you’re looking for are achievable.
Your practitioner may ask you to remove any makeup before the treatment takes place, and may cleanse your skin. They’ll talk you through the details of the treatment before they begin by marking the areas to be treated. They’ll then administer the anti-wrinkle treatment using fine needles to give tiny injections.
The Nefertiti neck lift procedure requires minimal downtime, so you can expect to be able to leave the clinic soon after your treatment. Its full effect should be seen after 14 days and can last up to 5 months.
If you have a lack of definition in your jawline, or have a neck that’s wrinkly and drooping, loose jowls, facial sagging due to weight loss in the face, or generally feel that your neck area appears aged, you may decide to have this procedure.
It’s usual for anti-wrinkle treatments to begin working within 3 days. You can expect to see optimum results, with a smoother appearance and an improvement in lines and wrinkles, between 10 and 14 days following the procedure. The effects should last for around 3 to 6 months, and you can maintain the effects of your treatment through follow up treatment.
There’s no downtime following this procedure and so you can typically return to your normal activities immediately afterwards. Take care not to rub or massage the area that’s been treated for 24 hours, and avoid taking exercise for this period, too.
